Nice work Matthew! I definitely prefer the colour version but the rusty looking one is nice too.

Excellent work! I prefer the colour version because the other one feels too saturated.

Nice work! I like the color version better
As a suggestion, I would try to add a shadow where the forests make contact with the ground. I think that way they would connect better with the background.

Very nice work Matthew. I dig the color version as well. Nice work on the subtle shading.

Thanks! That's a really good idea, I'll make sure to keep it in mind for the next map I make.

I agree with tilt, the colour version is more appealing. I like your use of shading for the forests and your combination of ridgeline and individual mountain peak techniques.

The islands indicate scale well. Perhaps you could include a scale/distance key?

Clean lineart, desaturated colors, what's not to like there?

Everythings to like here, Wired is completely right =) I have one nitpick beside what is said, but it is personal preference and could be intentional the way it is: I get the feeling 'thats it', since there aren't any mountains reaching outside the or touch the borders, making this seem as they would end near the edge rather than continue. Repped! =)

As always, a fine map ! What can I say more : I love your style, and try hopelessly to achieve a map that would merely look so cool !!! So thanks for this new inspirational map, that I'll study closely when I'll draw my next regional map !
