Best feature in a map of really great artistry: the contours and landforms in Esmoda. I don't know why but it just looks great!
Actually i am aware of 1-2 methonds by Jonathan Roberts, He posted them somewhere on his blog
Sorry i dont have time looking for them, but i bet they are there somewhere. I never tested them, because i rarely draw city maps and dont work with PS. Hope they will be of some use to you.
Anyway great job with all those buildings, it must have been tiresome.

Both of the city maps are really good and very regular in shape. I think the second has the nice citadel in the middle.
Thank you guys, I am glad you like them! =)
Voolf: Thanks! I looked through his tutorials, but didn't find an ideal solution. I am not so sure it actually exists. While I do think that it would be possible to find an automated process for the general look, the core of the problem is variety. I don't want every house to look the same, which is usually what happens when you go for automated solutions. :/

I found some time to scroll through the tutoial pages and those are the two i was talking about
Dynamic brush buildings and buildings with pen tool.
The former is the fastest way, whilst latter is rather alternate way of drawing them i guess. I agree with you that it is not a solution for all the buildings, but i guess with some tweaks you can utilize dynamic brush technique for the "not important" part of cities where you just need a cluster or random roofs.

Well done!

Two lovely maps! My preference is for Esmoda. I love the colours and general atmosphere in that one. Great work, and glad you were able to get some sunshine while you worked on them!

Voolf: Yeah, my biggest issue isn't really with the basic shape of the buildings themselves, as I have a fairly satisfactory/quick solution for that. (using the line tool with a high width) Biggest issue is drawing all the details within the roofs :/
Obbehobbe: Thanks!
ChickPea: Thank you! Me, too. It was good for my mood
Alnomcys: Thanks a lot!
