    Map Witchden Sanctuary

I've been playing with this idea for a while now

Witchden Sanctuary - made in photoshop
Remote Sanctuary known for its botanists/alchemists, library, healing magics, and mead.

This is the main building, currently working on the small community that surrounds and supports it.
    Any critique is welcome!

Looks pretty good Morgan. This is a small quibble but some of the textures (e.g. the stone floor) are repeating and the image might benefit by using some more randomization of textures. Nice work though.

Hi Arsheesh, thanks a lot for pointing that out. I can see what you mean now that you say that. I think randomizing it up could make a big improvement (yay new tips/tricks). Thank you!

    Thank you!

If you need some help starting, this is kind of what I always do(for a structure):
I start off just thinking what this place could be used for, and what kind of rooms they may have
I either draw out, or just start a rough map in my software program - get a rough layout down. Residence in one area, kitchens and dining in another, etc
One you have the rough structure, you can start thing of how it was built and details - with stone? wood? how many windows, do they need fireplaces? etc...

The hardest part is just starting - once this is done just critique it and work on it from there.
    Good luck!

    Default Nice play map

This is a great map. I enjoyed how you had the tree stump on the ground floor but the
full tree top on the upper levels.
I can't wait to see the surrounding town
I was wondering, as I am new to map making, what tools you used to make this map.
