Default November 2017 Challenge Entry - The Glyphs of Kaylaric

Thank you to all who voted for, repped and made such lovely comments on this map

The challenge "Survive" suggested by Wingshaw contained an option 2 scenario, where the map should be of a fortress that represented a last stand against beasties of the mapper's choice, so I chose the Dark Magics of the night, and mapped the last surviving village on a world where the night brings death to men who live beyond the magic glyphs that surround the village.

Kaylaric is a fortress without walls.

    WIP thread

This map was a GIMP/CC3+/GIMP sandwich construction. The background was created in GIMP, the village and the glyphs in CC3+, and the final colour adjustments and effects done in GIMP.

Thanks are due, again, to Bogie for his bridges

Apologies to all who were disappointed in me for changing my mind about mapping a pylon fortress to do this map instead.

It was a well deserved win, Mouse! I would have repped you, but it's been too soon.
Like a thief in the night
    she comes with no form
    yet tranquility proceeds
    the accursed storm...

    Thanks Ilanthar

The idea was triggered in part by Peter V Brett's Demon Cycle, which I was reading at the time of the challenge
