This is beautiful Diamond, I love the colors here, really, really nice.
Guess what time it is? It's... UPDATE TIME! It's been a while (a long while) since I've had a chance to get back to this, but a long weekend was perfect for some catching up. I've made several changes that, while small individually, add up to make the map as a whole look better. I hope.
I changed the outer border and title; changed the city icons (reflected in the key); changed the parchment overlay; added a scale; made some tweaks to text color and placement; and ground away at some more names. It's been a long slog, but the end is in sight!

Thanks, kacey! And thanks to all the rest of you who have commented and offered suggestions; I really appreciate your time.
I finally know what to say about your maps : they've got an attitude, they've got swagger ! Your maps are the Idriss Elba of maps !
I really dunno how you came up with this... It's just stunning. I can stay looking at this map for hours, it's such an inspiration.
Amazing job, gorgeous result !
@Thomas: I'll take that comparison any time!
@Veldrin: Thanks! More to come.
Once I finish with all the damn names, I'm going to start playing around with trade routes/shipping lanes and possibly some heraldry for the various Imperial states.
Yey ! The one with caterpillar is back ! I love that one so much !
First because it’s so well thought of, that it tells a whole story in a glance !
Then, the colors, that ambiance , are so well chosen ! All the choices you made are well thought and fits wit one another !
And the title ! Bold choice to make it so big, but, again, it fits perfectly the whole picture !
To my mind, it’s one for the records !
The penultimate update? Maybe?
I decided not to put in trade routes and shipping lanes - too cluttered. The only other thing I might possibly do is add some heraldry, but I'll need to experiment to find a look that blends with the toned-down colors of everything else. I guess I could just design them with full color then play around with various filters to get the look I want.
Anyway:
Oh my! That is just gorgeous
Its come a long way, even just since the last time I looked at it.
I really love the border work

Yes... the border. Oh that border. This is about the 200th version I've been through, but I think this one's a keeper.
