Is there a reason the northern and southern continents are truncated?
Hello CG,
This is my first original cartographic attempt, shaping the continents, countries and everything else from my own imagination. It is still in its early stage, because I am planning to label cities, bodies of water, other geographical objects as well borders. For now, I have four distinct continents that are shaping up quite neatly.

Is there a reason the northern and southern continents are truncated?

Yes. I used a simple climate simulator to try and make my continents' climates at least a tad bit more realistic, and I couldn't get a glacier up north and a hot arid desert down south if the land stopped at the map borders, the water would cool down the desert and thaw the ice. I had to simulate extra land (lots of it, comparatively) north and south of what can be seen to allow for extreme continental climate conditions to form. Besides, I like 'Here Be Dragons' places in maps, so I thought I'd leave some unexplored, uncharted area in mine as well.

So the southern continent, is it located at the pole or at the tropics?

Southern hemisphere tropic. The very bottom is subtropical/temperate.

Finally finished the city and country labels. I didn't know where to fit labels for small countries, so I decided to make a line pointing out from the country to an empty place (which is always the sea) and write the name there.
