    Hi there,

    I've been an occasional lurker around this community on and off for years and I was utterly enchanted to discover it. I've always loved maps but haven't ventured far into digital map making (although I have a paper mache globe of a DnD world a friend of mine and I were developing. We went so far as to try to model appropriate mountain building via plate tectonics, from there we went digital, but using a mouse was not ideal..). I acquired a Wacom drawing tablet recently though which I've found to be really nice to use. I have some experience in PS, GIMP and Inkscape.

    Hi Pikaia and welcome. If you haven't checked out the tutorials already, have a browse there and try one or two. If you're working on anything just now and would like some advice, feel free to start a work-in-progress thread and post what you've got.

    I'll look forward to seeing some of your maps. If you need help with anything, just holler.
