Map Journe, the Realm of Harvest

    pVzqoNK.jpg

Original worldbuilding attempt, made in Photoshop CS6. Roughly three weeks of actual work.

I loosely used the Saderan tutorial for elevation and some textures and pivoted from there.

The heraldic shields are made with a coat of arms maker online

The fonts used are as follows:

    IM Fell English

    IM Fell Double Pica

    Ruritania (and Ruritania Alternative)

    CAT Childs

I'd like to hear what you think about it. Thank you all!

Impressive. It looks very large, almost continent size. Is that what you are going for.

Awesome map, really loved it! I would kill for a political explanation of this map. Also, created an account just to reply to this. Thank you for the great work!

    This is a continent, yes.

I had planned to make political Atlas-like descriptions for every nation, but I decided to make a separate DeviantArt post for it, because extending the borders even more and stuffing it with tons of text would take away from the main focus, the map.

Excellent, I love the kingdom boarders. Not something I see very often on maps here.

There's a wealth of story and history here. I love the idea of including each region's governmental structure as part of its name, and the heraldry on the borders serves to add even more to the world. It makes me want to know what the story is of each of these houses and regions. Well done!
