I've been interested in maps since i was a kid; while others were reading comics, i could usually be found leafing through an atlas! Then, a few years ago when i was short of cash and it was my wife's birthday, i bought the necessary materials and painted a map of Wales for her... she's Welsh!

...and I've carried on. Much like the governments of western Europe and America at the end of World War II, i have no problems with carving up the world's land masses (without the consequential sectarianism) but i use what nature provides, usually rivers, to act as the boundaries.

I'm told they're not bad and i should do something more with them (instead of hiding them in a portfolio folder) but each one takes some time. For there to be even a half-decent effort of a successful business, the process needs to be speeded up... which is why i am here! I am hoping one (or more) of you is willing to share information. I am after a computer program (software?) where i can scan a copy of a map and the program can fill in the 'regions' with blocks of colour. Even better would be a program where i can manipulate relief maps to however i want them. Below, hopefully (because i'm a bit of a Luddite), is a recently finished work which will visually explain what i'm trying to explain...
