Help - A double How-To GIMP Question

Along the same lines (and I'd assume it's very close), can someone provide advice or a tutorial on generating marble (the stone) in the GIMP?

Here is the process I use, based on some photoshop tutorial from long ago that I have since lost the location of
1) Filter->Render->Clouds->Solid Noise
2) Filter->Render->Clouds->Difference Clouds
3) Repeat 3-10 times
4) Color->Auto->Equalize
5) Color->Levels and rag the gamma to 4 or so

This is black veins on white.

Invert to get white on black.

Colorize to get a colored marble.

Make seamless if desired

Also, a nice effect is to throw another layer of rendered clouds in screen mode on top:
