YAY! Straf is in the house!!
Sometime back in the past these three nations were united as one and complemented one another with their respective commodities. Due to a number of petty disputes and ridiculous nationalism, though, they refuse to trade and are one notch down from a state of war. They each have trading partners thousands of miles overseas through whom they obtain the goods they need from their neighbour.
But what can you do, eh?

Nice to see you in that challenge !
Just a little update for now. I've added some of the stuff I normally save for last because I can't make a decision on my mountain and river styles

Wouldn't you try to make the relief the same way you did your last map ? Altitude line and shadowing ? I don't know for you, but to me, it seems it would suit your actual map fine...
Looks great so far Straf, I think this map would suit a hand drawn mountain style with hatching like the ones in the 18th century, with minimal colors and a simple type. Looking forward to see what you do with it.
Thanks kacey. I decided to have a go at caterpillar style ones, and I was sort of aiming for a 19th century style I'm not too convinced but then it's my first attempt. I might have another go at it, but this took me ages. Nearly as long as drawing fish scales.

This is looking great, Straf
I know its only early days, but maybe the grid being louder than some of the features of the map is just the tiniest bit distracting?

Are you telling me to shut my grid?
I'd forgotten to drop the opacity down. I've done that and adjusted the colour a bit. I'm going to deal with the mountains later.
