I'm working on a parchment version but I'm not sure that's the way to go.

    And thanks Straf

Oh... you're one of those artists who doesn't need to add color on your work, nothing else to add

Aw, thank you Thomas. I can see clearly now, and can definitely say I was right before to say it was great

It looks great Thomas, I knew you were going to come in at the very end with something outstanding to show us. I’m so envious of you’re ability to do this by hand, the second I try to put ink on paper everything goes to hell, what type of pens do you use?

Merci beaucoup Ténia (ça fait toujours bizarre d'écrire ton pseudo ), but I couldn't resist coloring it

Thanks kacey and you're really too kind. I used copic multiliners for this one. 0.1 for the bulk of it, 0.5 for the rivers and, my favorite, 0.03 for the parchment details.

Ok folks, as I said above, I couldn't resist, I colored it. It's gonna become one of Hattam Reyes maps.

I'm hesitating between color and black and white ... You tell me.

Next step will be labels and that'll be tomorrow.

As good as the b&w line art is, that color just makes all the difference. This looks really great. I definitely vote for keeping the color, I can't wait to see how the labels turn out.

    The colour is beautiful.

If this was my map (you can tell when I love a map because I start thinking how I would do it from here) I would make the ocean darker to contrast more with the frame and the land, and give myself more room to add a bit of colour to the land as well. But that is only what I would do

Thanks Sue I won't follow your advice as I've tried it and found it darkened the map a bit too much for my taste (there's lots of sea).

Labels are done and I'm not entirely satisfied with their legibility but I tweaked them and did not find anything satisfactory. I want to keep the black color so ... I guess it's my final version.

This map will be a part of my Hattam Reyes series as I've already said it. For those wondering who is this fellow, he's my avatar in J.Edward's wonderful Ward of Chiezbehrg. A mad cartographer, the scrivener of the Ancients and I plan on releasing a set of torn parchment maps supposed to be by his hand. A way to further the GuildCity adventure a bit more (and to play with torn parchments and semi erased linework). Stay tuned, I've just got two maps to finish.

Cheers to Bogie for this challenge idea

Edit : changed the image with one of higher quality

Well I guess that makes Bogia part of Guild world in some way - or at least a fantasy born of one of its characters

I think you were right not to listen to me about making the ocean darker, and the labels look fine to me

It turned out great Thomas, I like the subtle colouring and I can’t wait to see more like this.
