Hello people.

I'm Angus and I'm a real mapaholic.

Thing is, I'm through and through 'Old School', a Luddite wherever technology is concerned... strictly pencil on paper chap.

And I've now lost the ability to write/draw manually (nerve degeneration thing) and the last ever physical copy of my 40-odd years' old faux map has recently suffered destruction! What a to do!

Luckily, at some prescient point in the past, I created a gazetteer of its >4,000 place names as a side project and they remain safe and sound in an Excel document... but now I've no map to hang for my years of mapfoolery!

So, I've at last taken the plunge here ~ hoping maybe to find a solution or two for my little problem!

Welcome aboard, fellow addict! Sorry to hear about your loss of ability and loss of map - that's a sh!tty double-whammy. 'Computer-assisted' mapping can be extremely rewarding too, though. There's plenty of tutorials to read to acclimate, and loads of talented map-makers here to answer your questions. Best thing to do is just dive in with a work-in-progress map, whether it's in the Regional, City, whatever forums.
