Nice one, no doubt about that. I'm kinda with Mouse though, I too see a certain Diamond vibe to it... I think the coastlines are a bit too crisp and pixelated for my taste, but the mountains look great. Lovely colors too.

For this map I took southern Africa and turned it upside down, including a bit of Madagascar, then added a few extra isles.

Oh, yeah, look at the Englishman, using Africa for his own purposes. Never seen THAT before. ;-)

It's a fun map and a worthy challenge entry. I do kind of wish you'd managed to work in some gold/gilt to the map after all. I think it might have worked out around the edge, like a gilded frame.
