    Wip Town of Lark

Just getting started on a map for one of the northern towns in Andalla and a location I'm thinking I might run a pilot adventure in to test out potential systems for this world. On the shores of a very large lake nestled in the mountains. Lark supports mining in the region and shipping trade from the larger city of Annes up to the Northern Territories

So far just laying things out in pencil:

It's A5 again, I have a larger pad of paper I keep meaning to use but it's just so much easier to tote around my A5 book with me so I can sneak in some work on things during downtime

As you've drawn in the individual buildings, it might be worth putting in the roof lines and slop shading. Will you be colouring it digitally?
My new Deviant-thing. I finally caved.

Nope, the plan is to ink and watercolour

I will likely do some shading but probably do that at the painting stage and ink on top of the paint

And progress for the evening, still deciding what buildings are worth labelling as landmarks

And more progress... still more inking to do... all the tiny houses.... then I can start painting

I haven't decided what I want to do colour palette-wise yet... past city maps I've gone more colourful (because I love some colour see other attached map), but I'm tempted to go more subtle and simple with this one... maybe two or three tone it. I'm torn, any suggestions?

I really like the colours of your other map. But maybe you might want to think about the city and how colours fit into it. I suppose you know how life is in Lark. Do the people love culture? Do they have many spices and fabric from trading with other countries? Then a colourful map would promote this association. Or is Lark a military citystate probably ruled by a tyrant? Then less colour, more dark grayscaled colouring would fit, I think. I suggest you make the people seeing your map seeing into the heart of Larkians
