World Map

Hi everyone!

I wanted to post this one as actually my first completed world map, though a very quick one. Hehe. I realised most of my maps are region maps with the odd one out a town or city map.
It is a small budget commission for a world map I did in a week. It was a fun little project to be sure. It was totally done in digital, using assets I created quite a while ago.
The land and sea came out quite differently than I expected. I tried a few things and finally took the advise from Mouse up on using layer masks for it, hehehe.
The world actually has a title, but I decided against posting it with it. No real reason, but anyway.

It's rough, but not without detail! In a way, the granular effect gives the whole piece an uncommon appeal. Not a huge fan of the overall layout, but the style is to be admired regardless! I must give you kudos, Cali; not an easy thing to throw a map together so fast, and still have it be pleasing to the eye, let alone it cost money to do so. Good work.

Thank you. Yeah it was a bit fast for a world map. I wanted to help out the client for this.
The week before, I did a commission for a dungeon map and it was much easier to do in a short amount of time. For this one though, the client did want the mountains and stuff at very specific places, so the layout was a bit restricted. Still, it came out alright in the end.
Now, next world map I do I'll probably want to take my sweet time with it. The perfectionist in me wanted more time on this one to get the balance of everything just right. But, all that mattered in the end was that it was a good and friendly client.
