Beautiful mountains, as usual! I really like your border too, simple enough not to detract, but lots of nice flourishes. Well done!

    cheers,

My only issue (once I figured out what the small map in the corner was supposed to be) It's very hard to see the color difference in the names of the regions. I realized the color of the name is to match the color of the region. but the color on the text is very hard to see. Maybe it's just my eyes.
Hey Darkfinity, thank you! That's a good catch about the coloured region names in the inset. Here i had the problem, that without outlines the labels are hardly recognizable on the background (due to the desaturated tone of most of the colors), but with outlines the small size of the labels make the colors being somewhat "overwhelmed" by the black of the outlines. Could have make them all the same tone, but i liked to have the colours from the inset map to match the respective labels (even ifit's hard to get it). After the loss of the prohject file it was somewhat tricky to change it , so it stayed as it was.

Thanks a lot Tonnichiwa, i tried to make the sounding of the place names (in some areas at least) somewhat iconic for the different principalities. Also to show the interrelatedness of the provinces and the different cultures by the spread of some suffixes for example. I thought a bit about the background story of the region (some of it can be found in the heraldry as symbols ), but the naming was in general more intuitive. I'm usually not so much into worldbuilding, that i try to flesh out whole new language(families) and their different varieties, i only tried to give a bit of an illusion of it

Thanks Thomas! I'm glad you like the map and especially the inset. It was not too easy to make it subtle yet still (somewhat) readable.

Many thanks Meshon, I made the border with the Line Dings BRK font. It's awesome to make ornament borders with it, although i haven't used it again till then.

    Nice map Abu Lafia!
Excellent colors and I still like your mountain style a lot. Of course, it would have been better with a few things (like you planned) on the sea to break a bit the vast blue... but I'm familiar with computer crashes and I feel you on this!
I think I would have prefered a line around the countries in the inset and maybe some more details in the forests. The frame is pretty and fits the rest very well.

Lovely map, Abu, with gorgeous colour palette. I like your mountains here, but I actually think you've improved since these were drawn. Forests look a little bare, but I guess that's down to the computer crash and can't be helped.

I'm full of admiration that, once again, you're taking the time to complete older maps, something I really need to think about doing....
