I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome but that's the vibe your maps usually send

I've been a bit busy but did work on this some more. It's mainly just finishing the details. And the wall. I just doooonnn't wanna draw all the crenelations.
I made a brush that is just a vertical line spaced so it will create the crenelation lines.
It's pretty easy to make, but I can share it if you want.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'll probably leave the walls until last.
Hey Larb, this looks really cool so far!
Funny coincidence: I live close to the site of a roman castrum (outpost/fort) and your map looks really close to that
Yeah, Roman forts were an inspiration for this but also the reason why I made parts of it intentionally different. But while the central buildings are different, there are only so many ways to do "barracks" in an efficient manner. =P
Ah, yeah. Big neon signs pointing to an open gate covered in valuables would be different, but possibly less efficient
And for me, it's a big reason for why your map looks so good: it looks smart* and grounded in real life.
*I've seen real forts with paper-thin walls or big tactical problems in real life. Not smart, but actually real. Those nobles should've hired you instead!
I still have some bits to tidy up but for the most part the map is done and now I just need to put all the labels on it and things.
It is an astounding piece of work but I fear the grassland part is a bit monotonous at the moment. Maybe add a bit of texture as an overlay ?
