Default Sept / Oct '18 Lite Challenge: Wizarding schools of the world

I hope this fits for the challenge. Honestly I don't know much about Harry Potter but I wanted to do a world map so I thought I'd do a map showing where all the known wizarding schools are.

Reading the lore it seems there are 11 great wizarding schools but only 7 of them are known and the location of 1 of those is unspecified? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction there or we might be going alternate universe version

Great idea especially where you are not as familiar with H.P. as some people will be. I'm sure someone can help you out with those locations.
And like you said, you can always do the Alternate Universe according to Q.

Welcome to the challenge, thanks for getting it started.

Thanks for the encouragement! I didn't exactly get done what I wanted today but I've made a few bits of progress so far including realising I forgot to add in lakes on the world map before..

Very good idea ! and it starts well, with a nice choice of paper, and the subtle colouring of the landmasses works just fine !

I am a fan of the concept. Love to see where you take it.

Side note: Any reason why the top margin is parabolic instead of following the circle?

There isn't any particular reasons for anything I do in maps, I'm just messing around seeing what things look like usually!

Now finally on to an update. I've added some colour to the letters for each school and some art work. You will have to let me know what you think of the phoenix and stag as well as how they should be shaded or coloured.
