Default Oct / Nov '18 Lite Challenge: Finish Mapping this Island

Oct / Nov '18 Lite Challenge: Finish Mapping this Island.
October 18th until end of day November 14th

This month's Challenge is to create a map based on the shape of this island.
The scale, climate and setting are all up to you. The only restriction is that you should not significantly alter the coastline.
All kinds of ways to do this, can't wait to see what you come up with.

This has been a popular Challenge in the past and I am hoping we will get a good turnout for this.

Win a silver compass, they look great hung over your fireplace!

The Challenge will run until the end of the day on the 14th of November, (Midnight eastern daylight time between the 14th and 15th, more or less, depending on when I can get to the computer to start the voting) and then there will be 3 days of voting. Someone is going to win a Silver Compass, it could be yours!

As usual, title your threads: "Oct / Nov '18 Lite Challenge: << your title here >> "

Don't forget to put the hashtag: ### Latest WIP ### in front of all WIP pictures, and especially in front of your final map. And don't forget, there is a WIP button that automatically posts this for you. Try it, You'll like it!

And remember, if you put more than one image on the same post, only one of them gets picked up.

Quick rules reminder: The Lite Challenge is open to anyone who has not already won 3 Silver compasses, 1 Gold Compass, or been selected as a featured Cartographer's Choice Map.
Also, the map has to be started after the first day of the challenge, no reusing older maps even if they were not finished.
Come on now, you know you want to do this!!

I almost forgot the most important part, the Island!

I was super excited about entering this one before I realized that my entry won the Hogwarts challenge (my computer time has been restricted to work lately) so I can't enter. I will really miss the lite challenges but am looking forward to watching other entries develop!

Ooo, this sounds like fun. Not sure I'll have time to enter, but I hope to find some.

I hope you'll have time, too! Your Harry Potter entry was amazing.

And just in case anyone is interested, this oddly shaped island is a real island. It's real world size is 150 miles wide (longest dimension)

The islands in the colder oceans tend to have a distinctive coastline layout due to relatively recent and quite serious glaciation.
