This has been another difficult one to keep votes down as everyone has put in so much effort. I think we should just give Shall Teclex a perpetual golden compass every month and offer a compass for 2nd place ;-) It is a very high standard to better, that's for sure.

There are some great hand drawn ink on paper maps here. I wish I could do that

It is, indeed. But that is what pushes us to get better! Thanks for that inspiration, Shall Teclex

Ok, limited myself to three votes and why:

Boogie because I'm going to actually use it.

Straf because it's the best story and even tho you may have desired to do more with it, it wasn't insufficient. For whatever reason it inspired me.

JsinOwl for a great watercolor that I could imagine on a wall.

Wingshaw, I think could have taken it all but just didn't have time. Awesome start tho.

I think everyone did an awesome job and Shall Teclex totally did an awesome job, you deserve that compass.

Not so easy to make a choice. Masters of Ixtehcoatl by Shall Teclex is obviously by far the best map, but others have each something special.
On the other map I voted for, I just want to mention "Braken Bay" by Samstego. Maybe this map is not the best of all but I found in it... I don't know... something naïve but very cool, which totally deserve a vote and a special mention ^_^.

Hahah, please don't say that - I'll grow placid and lazy and lazy cartographers are boring

My first pick is The Nine Towers of Edemora by Gidde, not just because of that intricate border and gorgeous calligraphy, but also because of the impressive work on the relief.

Another vote for Benintendai Townhouse on Marano Lane by Bogie. I hardly ever have time to carefully examine Bogie's maps while working on my entry, but after the threads close, I enjoy losing myself in all the details. This map is all I expected - believable, playable, full of interesting objects, one of those houses you break in in any good crpg game just to look for easter eggs

And how could I not vote for that punk with map of his victories tattooed all over his body? Galvanised by Weery is so original and amusing idea, I'll probably remember it for years

The map I would really like to see finished is Realms of the Nightsun by Greg - it has an excellent title for a fantasy setting, very interesting land shape, and absolutely beautiful color palette.

I'll just add how much I admire Larb's ability to make simple villages so interesting with her confident line art and JsinOwl's skill with watercolors.

As usual, this challenge was a great source of inspiration, motivation, and good company, so high five to ChickPea for interesting choice of photos and big congratulations to all participants for being so creative and skilled mapmakers. I might win this compass, but I always look up to you, cartographers, secretly wishing that I could do your magic...

Just reminding everyone that voting ends in less than 12 hours, so if you haven't voted yet, get on it!

I'll award the compass tomorrow morning.

EDIT: forgot to say... I've run out of repping power today, so I'll finish up tomorrow.

My vote's in. I'm a sucker for puppy-dragon eyes and couldn't help myself. Other votes went to early favorites, those that caught my eye and valiant efforts. Chew Toys o' Rep for everyone incoming when I get a chance.

Edit: Looks like I'm out of Chew Toys for the day, but I'll get the last few out tomorrow, and probably safe to say congrats to Shall, a well deserved compass.
