Looks really good. I know the pain of drawing mountains in such a scale. If you want this to look good you have to draw a lot of them, not just one ridge.
My best wishes for you to complete this, because it will be stunning.

Hahaha...postal stamps ^^ And maybe you are too obsessed with details and too ambitious in scale...but i mean, look at the map! It's glorious! If you have the time, i think it's totally ok to go overboard And i can tell you, i appreciate it. It's really something to see you guys always coming up with new awesome ideas for mapping and then applying it to great effect. I wouldn't want to miss this!

I don't know if that helps at all ^^ You certainly need to see that you do not overwork yourself...one can tell looking at this that this has to be a tremendous amount of work...and very in-detail work at that (which makes it probably really exhausting on the mind and the eyes).

But as said, congrats on this project. It looks really good (i know, i said that several times...but it needs to be repeated).

Hahaha, thanks for that attempt—it worked! I'm getting slowly closer to that upper edge of the map, and when I get there, most of the work will be done. I decided (against my usual persistence) to not map the part hidden by the cartouche in the upper left corner, so that's another boost right there!

By the way, the past few days I spent most of my mapping time on detailing and redoing the valleys in the south, especially the eastern part of the ridge, which was way too pale to my taste. I also managed to creep northward a bit, so that's nice!

Alright. Another week passed, and many hours of work on this map. Still not finished, but getting there!

Okay, so! I got stranded in Frankfurt Station yesterday on my way back to Belgium, so I suddenly found myself swimming in time, which I naturally decided to spend on mapping. And mapping I did!

I managed to finalize the mountains, add the labels, and even (because I know you guys just love it) throw in a splash of colour!

Wow. It's... I have no word for it. I actually prefer the black and white version, some areas are a bit to light for me and the lakes look too green, I would expect big lakes like that to be darker.

Bloody hell, Caenwyr. You really outdid yourself with this one, it looks beyond spectacular. I'm really impressed!

Oh wow! Just wow! And yes, as Beee, i looove the colored version.
Absolutely stunning work here, Caenwyr. I can't say you outdid yourself, because you do fantastic work with all your maps, but it is a very special feel you have here. I still say that, for me, the map-style clashes a bit with the intended world age, but as said, i am biased, because i always "read" maps in books as in-world items. And that does not have to be the case at all (but it is my prefered stance...so yeah, my own hang-up ^^).

Thanks for sharing this journey with us!

Hey all! So this project finally crossed the finish line! It's been a long run, but I've been helped by tons of good advice from you lovely people. Thanks a lot!

If you're curious about the final product (still slightly different from the last update here), be sure to check the finished thread here.
