Map of the Week No. 391 is from the forthcoming Jörðgarð Trails adventure "A Tale of 2 Books." This week we take a look at the fifth of the five caves at the dungeon entry of the Black Fortress. This cave is another mock-up, but it contains some unpleasantries. The pile of coins and treasure is an illusion. If the PCs take objects from the pile, they may notice that they have no weight. The two chests are traps that release poison gas when opened. The three patches of green slime on the ceiling are magically bound. They are free to drop only under certain circumstances. If the PCs touch the illusionary pile of coins, the slime above it will drop. If the PCs touch one of the chests, the slime above them will drop. If the coin pile and/or a chest is touched, the slime just inside the opening will drop anytime afterward when a creature is beneath it.
You can get this dungeon plan in two versions:
1. The Fractal Mapper (TM) 8 version in FMP format (1.7 MB) from the Jörðgarð website.
2. As a JPG flat map of 3000 x 2000 Pixels (2 MB) above.
Both versions are released for personal and commercial use under the Open Game License Version 1.0a, which you can read on the Jörðgarð website at:
