Beyond the Reef - Caenwyr's Quickie #1

Hey all!

So I just finished my Lionburgh Fortress map, and immediately went on to draw another regional map - hadn't done one of those in a while and I don't want to get rusty!

So here's a little experiment, just to keep the regional map hinges in my wrist nice and lubricated. No backstory as of yet, but I might think of one before I post it in the finished section. This one is gonna be a quickie though, so no promises!

Alright, update one: most of the linework done.

Thanks Beee! I'm not gonna do all to much to it, but I will definitely colour it, and shade it, and I'm currently experimenting with a new style of forest

For the time being, here's the shaded and base-coloured update!

Quick update! I put this map on hold for a while since I started experimenting with yet a different style (check out Aswar's Dungeon), but I realised I hadn't uploaded my most recent WIP for this one yet.

The mountains are so, so good! Love your colors, too.
I was trying to understand what was puzzling me when looking at it, and I think it's the sea! I mean, I really thought this was some sort of flying island -- the land has very bold colors and looks isometric, but the water is so light, with its bright parts looking fluffy, so I thought it was daylight sky! I would suggest you to make the water look a bit more... horizontal, I guess? And with a darker color it would look perfect.
Anyway, congrats, and thanks for sharing it.

Alright! I managed to continu this piece now that my Aswari Atrium map is finished.

I finalised the terrain, the colouring and the shading, and I redid the water since a little birdie told me it looked as if the island were floating in the air!
