May 2019 Mapping Challenge: Kill Zone

Well, here is my finished battle map. I may continue to do a little tweaking here and there, for example, though we usually put titles on our maps... I'm not sure that should be the case here. But it's there, just in case.

I also added a grid, but it may be too transparent, so I'm going to have to go back and check that, but other than those two things... I'm declaring this battle map complete!

Nice, I like it! The dry river bed with puddles is great.

That's part of the original map request... a river that is drying up, not flowing anymore. Which is also part of the reason that tree is dying. It's all part of a campaign my husband is currently running for me, and our boys. It's actually a really interesting storyline he created. He's been running it for almost 3 years, now. He's the one that originally asked me to make this map, and I made him one... almost three years ago, just after I got CC3+. And I made him one... which got the job done, but it really was a horrible job!

You don't have to take my word for it... if you look in my gallery under 'commissioned' maps, you will find the original Kill Box. This one is MUCH better, in my opinion.

Nice canyon map Ladystorm. I would add a little more shadow that is cast by the cliffs also, but nonetheless, good job.

the shadows!!! that's what I forgot! Volf, thanks for reminding me... unfortunately, right now my laptop isn't working correctly, and I can't access the files I need to fix this. If it get's fixed in time, I will, if not... it's going to have to stand as is.

Without the shadows this piece stands firm even still. Your reiteration of your husband's original idea is deadly, all the cliffs provide a proper ambush that could be used in many different ways.

I particularly enjoy the extremely subtle grid that tends to fall behind everything else.
