Wonderful map! The city icons are great!
Welcome to the challenge Cédric H !
Hello everyone!
Since this is my first challenge ever, I really wanted to do something special and I've decided to try some new stuff that I never tried before using the inspiration many guild members gave me with their amazing maps.
I've decided to use both shapes because I just couldn't do any other way, they both look great and so I went for it.
Making this map took me out of my comfort zone, specially with the coloring process, and I've spent many hours of trial and error to do what I wanted, even so, I wasn't able to incorporate everything that was planned due to my lack of skills (at least for now ).
Overall, doing this map was a great learning experience and I must say I am happy with both the process and the result.
Let me know what do you think

Hi Cédric. This is perhaps the best combination of these shapes that anyone's done so far. My favorite part is the "Waveless Deep", because of how it balances and unifies those two shapes. Your style is nice, the colors are harmonious. Some spell checking could help improve it further ("forgotten" is spelled wrong, and the word ocean isn't capitalized).
One detail you could still work on is the mountain range names; they are invisible, because the text color is lighter than the mountain outlines, creating this kind of a camouflage effect. You can only read them when you fully zoom in. The text flows nicely, so I think it would be a bit of a shame to let it disappear like that. Other than that, I don't think the map needs much else.
Just saw this over on Instagram. Nice to get a closer look at the detail. Lovely piece.
Cheers,
