Hello all,

I'm working on a map for a side writing project I've been working on, and I wanted to make a quality map so I'm not making things up out of midair. All help is appreciated!

Be careful - a quick map for a side project was pretty much what I was working on too some years ago when I made my first map. Now said project is long dead and gone, but I'm still mapping! This thing can quickly steal your soul if you're not careful, haha

As Kellerica has pointed out...Maps have a tendency to start as a side-project that turns into a full-on addiction. And sadly (fortunately) there is no vaccine to prevent it

Start by drawing something! Just write some names down more or less how far apart you think they should be and shape some borders around that. Play around. Once you have a sketch you have something to ask for advice on. That's my suggestion for getting started. Like you can show us anything, it's cool, I've made a map once from someone positioning names in Microsoft Word with tab.
