    Default Hello

    Hello everyone.

I'm Joe, and I've lurked here off and on for a while, oogling the wonderful maps.

I have some art background, nothing fancy or lucrative at all, but I haven't made a map in years, and not a fantasy map since I had hair. I found myself promising a fantasy map for the holidays. I'm a little late on it, but I'll post it in the WIP area, in hopes of feedback or at least advice.

    Cheers

    Joe

Hello yourself! Hehe, a little late for the Holidays it may be, but I look forward to seeing that WIP nonetheless, and I'm sure whoever you promised to map to will as well. Welcome to the Guild!

Hey Joe, welcome to the Guild! Better late than never, and I look forward to seeing what you have so far. What medium are you using to create your map?

    Thank you, Kellerica and JoshStolarz.

I use Photoshop and a relatively new Huion tablet. I'm actually getting the hang of pressure sensitive stylus pens by making this map (and way more about graphics drivers, etc., than I wanted). I do use hand drawn or otherwise scanned in material as well.

And I figure if you want a full world map, you'd be willing to wait a few days

That’s awesome. Definitely an adjustment to get used to drawing on a tablet, but the payoff is worth it in my opinion. I love the flexibility that digital offers.
