Wow that bridge is awesome! Looking good so far!
Hey there
Hope everyone's year is starting okay
I've been wanting to try watercolored maps for a long time and seeing ThomasR's one the other day made me so eager
So i just made time and found energy from the little i had left and started one x)
It's my third-ish map (the first one i made is not really a map and i don't want to show it anyway xD) and kinda my first watercolor (i've touched the medium some years ago but that really doesn't count i just made a mess and didn't know what i was doing xD)
Soooo yeah, here's the WIP for now !
My back hurts but i hope i can get back to it soon
If any of you have a suggestion please feel free

Thanks ! The design of this bridge is not certain yet so it might change xD
I really like hand-drawn maps. But I don't use watercolor because I have a problem with it.
They always smudge my ink
And I can't calligraphy with my pen on watercolor paper.
Yes I totally understand ! That's why i think i will ink at the very end x) I have no solituion for calligraphy pens though, but maybe there is some, somewhere, i'll look into it
I suck at color pencils so i don't have much choice when it comes to hand drawn stuff, it's either black and white or watercolor xD I'll let you guess which i chose until now

ok so as soon as i put the squiggly lines waves i knew i shouldn't have xD What do you think ?
I'm a bit disappointed especially after all the time i put in it but at least i know i shouldn't add too much lines when it's coloured

This is already looking amazing ! I'm not shocked by the waves but if you do not like them, take it that way : the mistake was a lesson
I think the waves draw more attention to the landmass, which in my eyes is a positive thing
Great map so far!
Thanks, both of you
And yeah, ThomasR, that's exactly what I just thought when i looked back at it x)
