Thank you Greason Wolfe and TimetoDraw.

The gird is for scale purpose, and can easily be removed. Its easier for me at this point to work with it so I can keep things in scale. Tonight's post I will leave it out. I just like to make sure everything blown up to an inch square is still detailed for battlemap purposes.

Working on adding the little details between the trees and in the openings, branches, rocks, taller weed sections and variations. So far so good. Not enough to post yet, but by tonight for sure. Need to work more on the structure of the top half now. Thinking I am done with buildings though, but need to bring in some vegetation up there. I have been working on some fir trees, but not sure I want to add that variety yet.

    Another night, another draft.

Water is temporary. Although I like the style, maybe just not the shade yet.

Added the details along the left side in and out of the trees. Rocks, logs, bogs, grass spots. The edges of the Island are not there yet, that's because I am using 3 different renders and still haven't blended them all completely.

I think she is coming together.

Looking good, maybe the water could be a little darker.

    Tonights Update.

1 more night to go. I think I will make it.
I got a lot of the little details to go. I would like to do something to that little water spot, maybe make it a whirl pool or scrying pool type thing. the bottom 3/4 is pretty much done. I need to work on the grass and open areas on the top part between the trees, and the beach area. Then clean up the edges, etc.

Alright, I am calling this one done.

Rather pleased, it came together pretty quick.

    Nice map, Kier!

What software did you use to create this one? These mountain shapes look interesting, as if they were done in 3d.

Thanks. I used Blender for the basic landscape layout, it does a great job on shadows and depth. I started using it to get realistic trees, and rocks, which of course I shrink down and can not see any of the detail I try so hard to put on them, lol. I am sure I have only touched the surface of it. After the base, I switch to GIMP for all the addons.
