    Post Hallo

    Hi all!

I have been browsing your forums for a while now and finally decided to join. Since I play a lot of pen and paper rpgs, some time back i decided to refine a crude map our DM had made for our playgroup. The result was nothing exciting, due to my limited experience with holding a pen for anything other than writing, but it did the job. Since I enjoyed the experience I began dabbling in map making andworld building, which eventually led me here (and google, mostly google). I joined the forum to get better at drawing maps and also making them more realistic looking and of course to get good inputs from cartographers with more experience.

Well, as with many beginning fantasy cartographers, you need to learn about how rivers work. It is a common issue, which is why this valuable thread exists: https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ead.php?t=3822 The particular issue leaping out at me is that two of your lakes have two outlets to the sea, whereas lakes only have one outlet.

Looking back, this is so obvious, if only I had looked at a real map. But when I drew this map, I had rivers before I placed the lakes, and didn't really take elevation into account. Definitely something I need to look out for.
