    Default Welcome Bio

    Hey All,

Thank you for accepting me in the forum, my name is Doug. I am 46 years old and have been playing Dungeon & Dragons for 33 years now. I have been a Dungeon Master for 21 of those years. I currently live in Louisiana due to work, have to pay the bills but grew up in Florida. I am a voracious reader, usually have 2-3 books going at any given time and I have been painting miniatures for almost as long as I have played D&D. I paint for pleasure and gaming needs and even do some commissioned work.
What brought me to this site? Well, due to the current pandemic our weekly games have ceased for the time being and I am learning to work with Roll20, so I am trying to find online content and help with maps and other things to help me more easily work with this new platform.
Look forward to talking with others.

    Doug

    Default hello

being new to this forum and this skill i can sympathize with your plight. Playing/DMing roll20 put me on the search for maps too. I can say from my little experience on this forum that there are some very talented cartographers here! My searching for maps have led me to:

    FantasyMap Discord: https://discord.com/channels/4850864...59775378391067

    FANTASY Map reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyMaps/

An article on mapmaking software: https://medium.com/universe-factory/...e-65c0318fd3a6

and any number of patreon sites, facebook and youtube pages, groups, web pages that are all very nice...if you can pay there are stellar map makers here and everywhere (have used several myself and recommend them) and when you get right down to it i figured out it's time to learn to draw (hint...it ain't easy)

Welcome along, both of you! Always room for more GM's and players alike, you should be in good company here. Hope you'll share some of your own works soon!
