Your drawings are lovely. I think all this one needs is a little more shading to make it 'pop. I do understand that you may not want to do any more with it, and it's still very nice as it is. I love the tents.
Thank you ThomasR!
Thanks ChickPea!
Well, if you insist...

This started out as an idea for an iron mine, but alas, I have no idea how to make those look good without putting in a lot of time. So maybe someday, if I have enough time, I'll try it again. If you have any tips, those would help too.
By the way, did you notice the incredibly subtle dustcloud effect?

Thank you ChickPea
I think that at this point I fear that I'm kinda stuck with the lack of shading. But it's clear that it shows more in certain places than in others, so I will try to learn to work around it.
I've been drawing water lately, and I noticed a lack of interesting things to put in there. So here's an attempt to add lilies to my maps.

An experiment with mist and clouds. What do you think?

I think that was a successful experiment.
Nice, I like the swirly mist pic!

Thank you rdanhenry!
Glad you do, ChickPea! It inspired me to do some other (non-cartography) swirly mist/smoke/fire drawings
And here's a new drawing:

I tried something new with the ground, but I think the colour's still a little off. I have to try some more!

Is it appropriate to revive this thread? I'm basically just continuing what I did but with a bit of a gap in between (and I like how it shows my progress.)

I would like to draw something overgrown next, so I'm experimenting a little with a different grass/moss texture for the ground and something like ivy to grow on walls and stone.
I think I prefer the dark over light moss, although I can see myself using either in different drawings.
The third version for the ivy seems best to me to. The first is quite noisy, and I fear the second version is harder for colourblind people to parse (and my drawings already tend to be problematic.)
What do you think? Does it look nice? Am I completely wrong again? Is this a great opportunity to "borrow" my palette?

Taking last weeks tests a little further!
This was meant to be a simple test to try different vegetation types and textures. Then it got a little out of control...
The statue's design is loosely based on the Winged Nike statue at the louvre. Loosely.

Oh, that's really cool! I like your little bird accent.
