    Sorry to hear you are dropping out. You had a good solid start.

    As for your dunes, I think the part that might be bothering you is the ridgelines. They seem to prominent. I think a softer line might work better. ( could easily be wrong, but that is what I see ). Don't give up, just find the kind of mapping that speaks to you.

    Could be forests made of primarily different types of trees, though! And the dunes would look better if you decided that this is an island, and not a continent. You're not locked in yet. Of course fantasy doesn't have to be "for you"... you could scrap the fantasy fill and make it into a sci-fi map.
