Hullo, you can call me Myfness....

I've been role-playing and map making since I was 9 years old, back in the early 1980's. I'm also an artist of many mediums, including gauche and water colour paint, pen and ink, colouring pencil, chalk, wire, leather, fiber, and I'm learning digital arts too. Auto-didactic by nature, I've got next to no formal training in any of these mediums, but I hope my skills and talent still shine through.

    Thanks for having me around....

Welcome. I am also self-taught in most ways, except I had private painting lessons for 3 years. No formal digital arts training. All you need is on the internet, and a portfolio. I have never been asked for my education. What matters is what you can do, and if you have the guts to go for it. Skill and talent is much of what matters. Experience helps too, so draw a lot, and your digital art skills will improve as you practice.

Welcome to the Guild! It sounds like you have quite the artistic background. I look forward to seeing some of your work!

That's always the case with a new medium, practice, practice, practice....

Thanks, I need to get an actual scanner. I've recently found some of my 15-20 year old maps, but have no good way of getting them onto the internet. My phone, weirdly pixelates everything and the images are just so rough and ugly they're impossible to deal with....so until I can manage that, I'm afraid I'm stuck with what I can come up with in Inkarnate and Krita....

What kind of phone do you have? It might be a matter of not having enough light. Setting up right by a window to get some natural bright light can help.
