Nice! A map like this doesn't need noodling around unless you want to add light mottling coming through branches and some shadows. Works just fine to stamp up a quick battlemap without blending it later. Note you don't need PHOTOSHOP specifically... any raster editor will do.

That's a good idea! I always forget about the light rays, things that sort of give it a very golden feel. I'll have to give that a go, just for fun!

I like that you are able to convey the somewhat 'simple' lifestyle of bandits whilst adding some sophistry with the bar and (looks like) booty store.

Nice work, you could slap a grid/hex over it and use it as a battlemap in a heartbeat.

I think the only thing I would personally do might have been to just go for the plain black double line border (although that might be me being lazy).
