Default Long Valley - Commission work

    ...Aaaand I'm back! ^^.
Long story short: I stopped drawing for a bunch of reasons (new work, wedding, new hobbies, other stuff, etc..) but after a series of unexpected requests, I decided to go back on track and see if I'm still able to do something decent and enjoy in the meantime.
Lot of time has passed since last time and now the guild is bigger than ever, I just took a quick look, but I saw a huge amount of wonderful works!! I see a lot of new talented artists, and old guilders that have become even more spectaculars!!
The average level is raised, and I feel a mix of happyness and envy, so I'll try to take it as a "push" to improve!
    Hello to everyone

This is a commission for a private client, a coulpe of maps for his rpg sessions

Welcome back! Great to see some new works from you. I love the 'Long Valley Region Map' particularly. Those paper folds are beautifully done!

Hey, welcome back, man! You've always been one of my favourite artists on this site, and I'm so glad to see you're still alive and kicking. I find myself in a bit of an artistic slump at the moment too, so I do kind of relate to needing to take a break...

In any case, both of these look great. I love the bleak tone of the regional one, and really enjoy the more simplified approach to the handdrawn elements. The long valley is maybe a bit more 'you' in terms of the look it has, and once again I really find myself drawn to the settlement icons. If I had to nitpick something, I'd say the pattern overlaying the parchment on the valley one is a tad too strong for my taste.

    Once more, welcome back!

Glad to see your work again, Tom!
Obviously, you had good reasons to do a break .
I somewhat prefer the colour scheme of the general map, but both are very appealing.

Yeah those paper folds are good and I really like the background texture of the script. Its like you just cant make it out. Very well done. The more I look at these maps the more I like them.

I love the wonderful sinuosity of your rivers, and the lovely texture in your mountain ranges! This feels like a great place to explore. Well done Tom!
