?? Size and Scale question ??

i'm trying to make a city/town map. how big should the average commoner's house be? assuming that it is a single family home and not a duplex or quadplex style multiple homes/ apartments. If i make each square on the town grid to be 25 Yards what should the size of a modest commoner's house be? i'm trying to get a feel for the size and scale of everything else, and i figure this type of building would be a nice starting point.

I think you'll find this resource really helpful, I imagine it will answer most of your questions about scale and is just great in general for planning a map. There is a section on page 6 that deals with building size.
