Wip WIP: Two leveled city in watercolor

Hey, not really sure how the WIP threads are done, but I got asked if I can post one for this map, so here it goes Pardon the quality of the photos, they are all taken on my phone.

I started the project with a rough sketch of both levels according to the description the client sent me.

Then I did the detailed sketch on the paper that I will color.

I made this cut out "cast" so I can have the same shape for the main parts for the both levels.

Drew the detailed sketch for the lower level.

It looks great. I like the cut out idea.

What do you mean by 'digital clean up'?

    Thank you!

After I photograph the map I do some retouching in Photoshop to clean up some little mistakes, sometimes slightly fix up the shapes of the buildings or streets, and make colors more vivid.
