Wow, this is stunnig - the city map as well as the surrounding landscape. I love and hate drawing cities as well and yours are kind of my role model. I adore your style - it's so clean and precise on the one hand and yet playful on the other.

Yes, cities are a thing unto themselves. I love starting them, but completing them.... not so much.

I think the layout you chose, with the elevation sort of view of the city and landscape above and the birds eye layout below is really neat. Maybe this is very common, I don't know, since I am new to map making. I think it is very effective! I also think the subtle colors really heighten the effect.
