    Map Delberz surroundings (WFRP, handdrawn)

    Hello, mapmakers!

For my own purposes, I drew a detailed map of the area around the city of Delberz (homebrew Warhammer or MyHammer).

Technique: acrylic ink, watercolors, nibs and a bit of photoshop in post-production.

A close-up look at the details:

I am curious about your opinions and comments.

    Have a great day.

Gorgeous as always! Your work never fails to impress me. I love how well the red colouring makes the buildings pop.

Have I ever mentioned how impressed I always am with your patience and dedication on these maps? I am sure I have, but it bears repeating. Another fine piece of work.

Gorgeous map, detailed yet easy to read. Did you add a paper texture or the paper you use has a "woven" look? It is a slightly to present to my taste.

It is very difficult to get a paper with such a texture on which one would draw well with ink and watercolors. In addition, such paper is hard to scan.
So I add the texture at the very end, so that it covers the white border around the labels.
I set the texture layer to multiply and set the transparency usually around 75%.

Is Deiterhof the home of Deiter Mathias Steinau ? As such an excellent map maker I guess he is well paid for it !

Well, even in fantasy worlds cartographers don't earn enough to have their own palaces.
Cartographer Dieter is from the small village of Steinau (southeast of Delberz). In the town he has a small workshop.

As for Dieterhof, it is simply a coincidence of names. This Dieterhof estate belongs to Dieter von Sternberg, the hero of the Empire - that is, to my player who completed the Enemy Within campaign and settled here.

    Hi, awesome map.
This is the kind of finish I'd like to have on my maps on the last 2 Lite Challenges (Voneg, Phylakas).

Would you mind if I used the style and textures for my maps?
(I mainly work with GIMP2 and SketchUp)
