Wip December 2022 Challenge: The temple of verticality

    Hi Everyone

It's been a while since I've entered a challenge but I had some inspiration and I should have time to do a little A5 map before the next Anno 1800 expansion releases and eats most of my free time for the next month.

The temple of verticality is a stone-built monastery built into the side of a canyon wall. The monks here spend their days contemplating various types and amounts of verticality and its broader implications. I'm quite pleased with the way it's coming along so far, my speed seems to have improved since I last entered a challenge and I managed to get the pencil draft down in just over an hour.

Thanks, I'd been thinking about doing something like this for a commission piece I'm currently working on and it's worked really well here too. It's been great jumping back in and doing a map, I've mostly just been doing assets for the last 3 or 4 months so it's a nice change.

Here is the latest update, I got all the inking done yesterday afternoon.

The photo is a little blurry on the side of the buildings but updates from here will likely be scans rather than photos so shouldn't have that issue again.

Very nice, I see this as a quite interesting RPG site to explore ... Also it reminds me of a real place in Italy

Thanks everyone. I'm really happy with how this piece came out and it was such a fun little piece to work on too.
