Does all the research previous to the sketching count as part of the timer?
For example, To draw my maps, I have to research the distance that cannons could reach in the XVII century to make batteries dimensions accurate, the crew per cannon to size the rest of the units and barracks adequately, the penetration of each size of bullet, etc.

Also, does the digitalization part of the mapping count in the timer? For example, I make a first draft on paper, then get to gimp to select textures, then back to paper to draw the castles and finally to gimp to finish coloring and export to png.

I wouldn't count the research time, however I would count the digitalisation as part of the process
