Thread: Pengoral Archipelago

    Wip Pengoral Archipelago

Thought I'd try an island map, so here it is! The Pengoral archipelago is an island chain with a combination of volcanic and reef islands that may or may not exist in the same world as Eoruthan, beyond the Distortion Wall.

What software do you use for this?
    I like the sea colors.
As I understand the matter, reef islands are used to getting sand beaches, so maybe some coastlines would look much smoother? At the moment the coasts seem to have a rather similar amount of 'ruggyness'.
Some island shapes remind me of Indonesia, is that a source of inspiration or pure coincidence?

Hi, sorry for the late response. Had finals. I used Inkarnate Free Version for this.

As for the coastlines, the barrier islands have motly rocky outward faces as you can see, so no beaches there. The inner faces are still in the process of eroding since they are 'recently' emerged islands (on geological scales). They will probably eventually be pretty regular though.

Yes, the southern chain is loosely inspired by Indonesia, especially the largest island. I wanted to combine an older volcanic island chain with more recently emerging coral clusters.
