Map Dec 24/Jan/Feb 25 Lite Challenge: DUSKTIDE (Non-entry)

NON-ENTRY since I have golden compasses.

For the fun. It's been a while since I did a port city from scratch. And I've been meaning to map Dusktide for quite a while.

    Anchorage: Dusktide
Area: The Dimma Shroud, at the Mistheart Shores of the Northern Blade Sea
    Region: Sorvendyre in Strumweaver
    Continent: Tai'Vior

    Dusktide:
This anchorage is a formidable fortress nestled within the Dimma Shroud, surrounded by thick rolling mists.
Though this town lacks a Morning Tree's protection, its battlements serves it well at night when far more dangerous creatures roam outside.

As I am refusing to rush things, it is taking a little bit of planning. But the Hollow Rock section is starting to shape up nicely!

    Hollow Rock:
    Minimal shading

Using a layer on overlay with a greyscale color above the color layers(with Dodge/Burn tool > cloudy brush). To do my shading on.

Awesome!, a hollow rock / crater would make for a very safe harbor.

Yeah, I'm already thinking about how it would come into play with Dusktide on the mainland.

Next round. Started playing something I haven't really done for a city map before, dollosse

It's basically random rock lineart, then two solid colors, one rock color and a moss color. Then have the line art and color layer on Layer mask and fade it into the sea. Then use shading to make it pop. (You can see the port to the right on the big map where I have not touched it up yet for comparison.

Very nice map Xcali. The docks are really good looking.
