    Interesting.

    Its cool to see the layers develop. I find it interesting when a method emerges and I'm no longer trying anything\everything hoping something 'looks good'

    OK here's today's update;

    1) Finished majority of "Castle Ward" - some minor details still to be added.
    2) Finished a good portion of the "Military Fort (Ward)"
    3) Added more roads/streets & added some texture to the roads/etc. - still more to do here

    That's a great castle shape.

    I really like the grass texture - it's almost like gaming table baize. The castle is stunning, did you base it on a real one? The general shape is really nice.

    @Ascension & Ravs - Thanks, it's based off of Windsor Castle... and the temple in the fort is based off of Temple Church. I'll be using a lot of "real-world" references for this map.

    The basic land area is roughly based off of a map of Baghdad from the end of WWII.

    Ravs - The grass texture is the "Just Add Bison" texture from Spiral Graphics, I use this one a lot.

    LOL! Temple Church! I was a member of the Inner Temple when I was doing my bar exams and walked past Temple Church every day. I had a girlfriend whose family lived in Ascot and we used to go past Windsor to get there at least once a month...but I guess I never saw them from above!

    OK here's today's update...

    Started adding the noble 'estates' and when I needed a break from that I started drawing in some of the smaller streets, and dirtied up the inner grounds of the Military Ward.

    When I decided to go the route I'm taking on this I knew it would be a lot of work, but phew... I'm not sure I'm gonna get this complete by the deadline.

    Anywho...here ya go

    If you do get it done it's going to totally rock.

    I really like the way you make your buildings, but I'm starting to think you should do the walls in the same style...
