Welcome to The Guild. There is one project currently going on relying heavily on tectonics. In the past there have been many, just do a search and you'll find lots of info and links. Also do the same for weather, climate, etc. We're all amateur world-builders to some degree so a lot of what we do is make up theories until someone who is a professional in the field comes along to straighten us out
