Post Ildust, my first hand-drawn regional map

This is a continuation of this thread:
    http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...5076#post55076

But as the art style and method are completely different, I made a new thread.

Once I had a complete world for my campaign, I decided to make a detailed zoomed-in version of the region the whole campaign would revolve around.

So I printed a zoomed-in image of that region, put a backlight behind it and a white sheet over it and started drawing with crayons. Here's the result; I never finished drawing the roads my players wouldn't reach. I also include the outline I used.

    EDIT
I added a thread with a zoom of the center of this map.

It looks great already, but I'd love to see the mountains a little more darker. The outlines are too dominant, I think.

    Though I like the shape!

Handdrawn maps are still my favourites. They somehow have more character than pure software drawn ones. The ones I really like are done in software but look entirely handdrawn.

It look nice, but is so lite I can barely see the terrain.

Although this way my first hand-drawn map, it proved very useful in my campaign.

However, I've never really liked it, realizing it was merely informative, just a mish-mash of significant colors. Sufficient but uninteresting.

Still, I wanted it here for the record, and to show what early experimenting can result in.
