    Post Greetings

    Hello all
I have just retired and writing a fictional story but would like to make a few maps linked if possible. Anyone know of anything suitable and not too costly.

    Regards to all John

Post What do you mean linked?

    Welcome to the Guild, JohnTK!

What do you mean when you say, "you are looking for maps linked"?

Hope to be retired someday, myself.

Knew it would not sound correct.

Like a map of a continent , then I link down with a click to zoom in on the area.

Hope that makes sense. Think it will be possible but as a newcomer to computers and especially using a macbook.

    Thanks for your interest

    John

If you're just after one level of zoom then it's pretty easy - you can just put hotspot links in the map (which are invisible but if you hover your mouse over them they become clickable) which takes you to another image which can also have hotspots. If you're after being able to zoom by using the scrollwheel on your mouse, then you're looking at scripting (I think) - there are some threads on the guild about making fantasy maps which are like google maps.

Not sure if you're looking for a cheap or free solution, but Campaign Cartographer is linkable as well as being very zoomable (it's based on a watered-down CAD engine).

First thank you all for replies and welcome. It sounds like just the place I need for help

I have a Mac my pc brokedown and thought a mac would be a nice change and I do like it apart from software availability.

Hope there is a mac user among you

    Regards John
