I had a quite detailed sketch on paper and I had dosens of places with background I wanted to add into the map. But of course some things evolved during the creation and in some plases i went back and forth many times.Originally Posted by Eesu
Indeed there are several names in the south that are Tolkien inspired. There shouldn't be any directly from tolkien but I haven't cross checked. I'm running a home brewn game with quite unique set of rules (at least I have not seen anything like the one we have).
Very immersive map. Just makes you want to pore over it for hours, studying every detail. Well done on the well-disguised locations, the engaging textures and overall map dynamic. A real triumph.

There are some names straight from Tolkien, such as the Falls of Rauros, Rohan (even though there was no bay called Rohan in Middle-Earth) and the Trollshaws. Otherwise, awesome names. How detailed information do you have on the marked battlefields?
